Why a Booking Fee is needed to book your portrait session
Here at Studio McBurney we aim to be upfront about all Terms and Conditions surrounding our Photo Shoot experience. However, there is one policy that sometimes causes confusion amongst our customers and so we have decided to dedicate this page to talking all about why, at our studio we take a booking fee.
Why do photographers take a booking fee before a session?
In order for your appointment to be the amazing experience you deserve, there's a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes before you even step through the door. The experience also gives you access to amazing photographic resources that truly make it a five star experience. Each session requires a lot of preparation.
Your booking fee not only secures your time in the studio and with the professionals, it helps to keep the diary running smoothly for all customers, ie. we book a dedicated slot for your portrait session and your cinematic viewing appointment for your family at the exclusion of others.
When do you take the booking fee?
At Studio McBurney, every appointment made in our studio is subject to a £100 booking fee. The payment is taken at the time of booking. We will find a date that suits you and talk you through the day so you know what to expect from your session. We'll ensure you're happy with everything and give you the opportunity to ask any questions before processing the payment.
Will my booking fee be returned?
Your holding fee will be returned back onto your card once the experience has been completed at your Design Consultation which takes place usually one to two weeks after the photographic session.
When you place an order with us, the value of your booking fee goes towards your order total. For example, if you place an order with the value of £950, your order total will be reduced to £850.
Under what circumstances would I lose my £100?
By paying the booking fee, you are committing to your agreed appointment time and date.
Customers are permitted to ONE rebook per gift certificate. Cancelling completely your portrait session or your viewing appointment will forfeit the booking fee, so you do need to complete the experience to have it returned.
Any cancelled or missed portrait session or Design Consultation appointment automatically turns your booking fee into a store credit.
